Parents take their children in for regular checkups for the
child's teeth, hearing, eyes, ears, nose and throat, but not for a spinal checkup.
Childhood is a very physical time for all of us. Jumping and running, falling and
accidents are all part of a normal childhood. A spinal checkup could be one of the
most important checkups your child will ever receive. The spine is the lifeline of
the body because running through it is the spinal cord, a cable-like structure containing
billions of nerve fibers that send messages and energy from the brain to every part of the
body. If there is a blockage of any nerve along the spinal cord there is a general
weakening of the child's body, lowered resistance to disease, and consequent body
malfunction and sickness.
