Examination
& Report of Findings

Chiropractic is an exact science. At Creekside Chiropractic & Physical Therapy, the doctors are highly trained in a number of physical exams that aid in determining if you have a subluxation.   After consulting with the patient and completing health and medical history, the doctor will decide which of the following tests should be done and whether chiropractic can really help your condition.

Examinations Options:

1. A Postural Analysis

A. Tilt of the head
B. Rotation of the Head
C. Shoulder Elevation
D. Hand Rotation
E. Hip Height
F. Knee Rotation
G. Ankle Rotation
H. Winging of Shoulder Blades

2. A Static Palpation
Gently touching the spine of the vertebra that has subluxation helps the doctor to evaluate muscle tone, tenderness, swelling, possible ligament damage or muscle spasm.

3. Motion Palpation
By evaluating your range of motion, the doctor can precisely locate the angle of the fixation.  A fixation is when one or more vertebrae have become immobilized and interfere with nerve communication.

4. Leg Length
Muscle contraction may actually cause one leg to be longer than the other resulting in an imbalance that can cause herniated discs, female disorders and a host of other maladies.

5. Muscle Testing
The nerves coming out of your spinal cord allow your muscles to work.  If a muscle is not working properly (loss of strength) it indicates a subluxation.  Muscle testing can also be helpful in determining whether other organ systems are working properly.

6. Orthopedic and Neurologic Testing
These tests can show if your subluxation has affected other soft tissues such as muscles, ligaments or arteries.  It can also be helpful in estimating the length of treatment necessary for full spinal and nerve recovery.

7. X-Rays
X-rays allow us to view the subluxation itself.  An X-ray will also tell us if we may have a structural abnormality which would require special care.

Creekside Chiropractic & Physical Therapy
has a State-of-the-Art X-Ray System
to assist the doctor in your evaluation.

After completing all of the testing, Dr. Antovich will review in detail a report of findings so you will have a clear understanding of your condition and treatment required.

Dr. Antovich is well networked with medical specialists and surgeons.  When necessary Dr. Antovich will team up with a medical specialist for an MRI or for pain medication prescriptions.
